The European EURAXESS initiative, which supports the career development and mobility of researchers in Europe and beyond, is implementing the EURAXESS HUBs project, which aims to strengthen the innovation and commercialization of science through entrepreneurship and startup systems.
The project brought together researchers, innovators, incubators, entrepreneurs and startups to share experiences and knowledge necessary to use scientific research for sustainable economic development of the participating countries and beyond.
Euraxess Montenegro - University of Montenegro, as BHO Euraxess in Montenegro, together with Euraxess Serbia, Euraxess BiH, Euraxess Estonia, Euraxess Cyprus, Euraxess Luxembourg and Euraxess Israel participates in activities that will result in strengthening innovation capacity in the Western Balkans, and strengthening the commercialization of scientific research. EURAXESS Montenegro has become one of the hubs for scientific entrepreneurship.
In the previous period, the EURAXESS HUBs project developed a digital toolkit that provides guidance on scientific entrepreneurship and available support systems to researchers who wish to commercialize their research.
The practical component of the project is study trips to 3 world-renowned startup nations - Estonia, Luxembourg and Israel, to see the necessary infrastructure, as well as instruments and relationships of key actors creating an efficient, innovative and financially sustainable entrepreneurial and startup system.
Dr Srna Sudar, Euraxess Montenegro Coordinator and Dr Ivan Radević, researcher and entrepreneur from the Faculty of Economics, University of Montenegro participate in a study visit to Israel, which is the first country in the world in terms of R&D investment, first in the world in number of scientists and engineers number of inhabitants, which resulted in the best 7 Nobel Prizes in the last 13 years.
The participant of the study visit was visited by one of the most prestigious and recognized universities in the field of research and innovation in Israel and the world - the Israeli Institute of Technology - Technion, which produced 3 Nobel Prize winners, and Road2 - ecosystem for entrepreneurs, industry leaders and investors startups in inspirational companies, by building a unique partnership between multinational corporate companies and public funding.
